Venture Native Informant, the east London gallery whose wide-ranging and adventurous programme has included the post-internet artwork collective DIS, the Turner Prize nominee Sin Wai Kin, the musician Juliana Huxtable and the photographer and artwork critic Hal Fischer, will shut after 12 years.
“The choice to wind down didn’t come frivolously,” its founder Stephan Tanbin Sastrawidjaja wrote in an Instagram put up immediately (31 October) saying the closure. “The present world financial, political and social surroundings has formed into a particularly unstable and unsustainable surroundings for a gallery corresponding to ours.” He added that “private components” contributed to the choice, too.
Venture Native Informant had not staged an exhibition throughout its neighbouring Bethnal Inexperienced areas since July, when it closed separate exhibits by Sean Steadman and Anna Jung Search engine optimisation.

The American painter started working with Venture Native Informant after graduating from the Royal School of Artwork in 2019.
