The South African tradition minister, the right-wing populist Gayton McKenzie, has cancelled the venture for South Africa’s pavilion on the forthcoming Venice Biennale, proposed by the artist Gabrielle Goliath and curator Ingrid Masondo. Goliath and Masondo have appealed to the nation’s president and submitted a case to its excessive court docket to overturn McKenzie’s choice.

The artwork seller Marian Goodman, who based her gallery on New York’s 57th Avenue in 1977 and represented most of the world’s main artists over current many years, has died aged 97.
